April 23, 2026 – Manitoulin Health Centre is pleased to share that all services at Mindemoya Hospital have now been fully restored following the recent Code Grey, which was initiated due to a community infrastructure issue related to local flooding.
After the Emergency Department safely reopened on April 22, the organization implemented a phased and cautious approach to resume operations across the site. With steady and coordinated progress, Mindemoya Hospital has now returned to full-service capacity, ensuring patients once again have access to the comprehensive care they rely on close to home.
A key priority throughout the reopening process was the safe and coordinated repatriation of patients who had been temporarily transferred to neighbouring hospitals. This approach helped ensure continuity of care while supporting a smooth and stable transition back to regular operations.
“This has been a true team effort,” said Paula Fields, President and CEO of Manitoulin Health Centre. “Our staff, healthcare partners, and community came together in an extraordinary way to support patient care during this disruption. We are proud to have fully restored services and remain committed to providing safe, high-quality care close to home.”
Manitoulin Health Centre extends sincere thanks to patients, staff, community members, and healthcare partners for their patience, understanding, and support throughout this time. The collaboration and resilience demonstrated across the region were instrumental in achieving a successful reopening.
MHC remains committed to delivering safe, reliable care and is grateful for the continued trust of the community it serves.
