Measles Alert: Important Masking Guidelines at Manitoulin Health Centre

Manitoulin Health Centre is issuing a Measles Alert and implementing temporary masking guidelines for the safety and protection of all patients, visitors, and staff within our facilities.

Measles is a highly contagious disease that can spread quickly among unvaccinated individuals. To mitigate any potential risk and ensure a safe environment for everyone, MHC is proactively taking measures to prevent its transmission within our hospital.

For Your Protection and the Safety of Others, We Ask That All Patients and Visitors Please Put on a Mask if You:

  • Are not fully immunized against measles.
  • Have had recent known exposure to someone with measles.
  • Are experiencing any of the following measles symptoms:
    • Runny nose
    • Cough
    • Red, irritated eyes
    • Rash
    • Fever

Immediate Action Required: After putting on a mask, please notify a staff member immediately upon your arrival. This will allow our healthcare team to provide you with appropriate guidance and ensure the necessary precautions are taken.

Your understanding and cooperation are vital in helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone at Manitoulin Health Centre. We extend our sincere thanks for your continued support and commitment to community well-being.
