Increased Assessment Centre Hours

To address the increase in COVID-19 cases and exposure, MHC has expanded the hours for the Assessment Centre in Little Current beside the Emergency Department, as well as increasing booking clerk hours to field messages on the COVID line. 

 

Friday, November 12 - 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
Monday, November 15 - 8:30 am to 7:30 pm
Tuesday, November 16 - 8:30 am to 7:30 pm
Wednesday, November 17 - 8:30 am to 7:30 pm
Thursday, November 18 - 8:30 am to 7:30 pm

Please note, Ontarians should only seek an appointment at the Assessment Centre if you are:
 

Showing COVID-19 symptoms;

  • Have been exposed to a confirmed case of the virus, as informed by your public health unit or exposure notification through the COVID Alert app;
  • A resident or work in a setting that has a COVID-19 outbreak, as identified and informed by your local public health unit; and
  • Eligible for testing as part of a targeted testing initiative directed by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Long-Term Care.

 

Asymptomatic individuals without known high-risk exposures and not part of outbreak investigations, but from certain populations may be considered for screening testing.

 

Eligible individuals include:

 

  1. Workers (including support workers), visitors (including caregivers) and government inspectors of long-term care homes
  2. Temporary Foreign Workers
  3. Individuals who identify as Indigenous
  4. Residents in homeless shelters
  5. Individuals, and one accompanying caregiver, with written prior approval for out-of country medical services from the General Manager, OHIP
  6. Individuals who are travelling into remote/isolated First Nation and Indigenous communities for work purposes
