POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for providing a safe, comfortable environment for all patients, staff, and visitors by ensuring that all types of cleaning are performed throughout the hospital facility indoors and out. This includes, but is not limited to, daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning requirements of patient areas, non-patient areas, offices, and common areas in accordance with Manitoulin Health Centre standards.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Licensure)
Required:
- Partial Secondary School (Grade 10)
Preferred:
- Previous cleaning experience in a hospital or healthcare setting

COMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL:
- Proficiency in computer software applications: Microsoft Outlook, Policy & Procedures and Learning Management System
- Proficiency in the operation of cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and techniques, best practices for environmental cleaning and related infection control guidelines and policies and procedures
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals handling and WHMIS
