Retired Employee Commissions Quilt to Reflect Years of Service at MHC

Carol Ann McCauley first began working in the Foodservices Department at Manitoulin Health Centre in May 1989. After 10 years of service in the Foodservices Department, Carol Ann transitioned into the Housekeeping Department, where she worked another 20 years.

In late 2019, with just over 30 years of service, Carol Ann decided to retire. She loves quilts, so she commissioned local quilter, Ruth Streicher, to make her a quilt using MHC’s colours to commemorate her years of service at MHC and her co-workers. The quilt is called Broken Star and MHC’s logo appears in the middle of the star, depicting Carol Ann’s workplace and her work family.
