Health Records Administrator – Temporary Full-Time (up to 18 months)

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Manitoulin Health Centre requires a temporary full-time Health Records Administrator to work at its Little Current Hospital site.


QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Licensure)

 

Required:

 

  • Current CHIM certification with Canadian Health Information Management Association
  • Computer experience
  • Mandatory proof of fully immunized COVID—19 vaccine status

 

Preferred:

 

  • Two years relevant hospital experience

COMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL

 

  • Proficiency in computer software applications: Microsoft Office, Excel, Meditech ADM (Admissions), Meditech MRI (Medical Records), Meditech ITS (Information and Therapeutic Services), Meditech SCA (Scanning/Archiving), EMR, Philips digital transcription software; Policy & Procedures platform and Learning Management System 
  • Typing speed minimum of 70 wpm 
  • Knowledge of PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act)  
  • Knowledge of Public Hospitals Act 
  • Proficiency in Med2020 WinRecs abstracting standards 
  • Proficiency in ICD10 and CCI coding conventions 
  • Proficiency in Folio Views software 
  • Proficiency in medical transcription 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
